Sales of high resolution/high performance monitors goes up. Vendors get to sell all-new cards that people are excited to buy. New GPU's get people to upgrade other parts of their PC or build entire new ones. Or with gaming, pushing new and better GPU's helps stimulate the PC gaming market, helps developers push the boundaries of their games, and it also helps the whole PC hardware industry in general. And lastly, allowing partners to boost their capabilities and results with new hardware strengthens and grows the markets you're trying to sell to. There's always good reasons to release new and improved products in the tech world, regardless of competition. ![]() When you don't have effective competition, you don't need to make new products, you can keep releasing the old ones with larger numbers in their names and still make boatloads of money. They aren't a company that's particularly concerned about ethics, they are concerned with making money.
